Details On the Day

The ceremony will be at the Historical Society and the reception will be at the Stable, which are about 3 blocks from one another.

The Historical Society includes a park with a historic home that hosted Ulysess S. Grant during the Civil War as he sought additional horses, supplies, and support during the war. It includes a museum devoted to the American Saddlebred Horse and its presence in the area. The Historical Society includes a historic country church (where the ceremony will be held), flanked by a historic school house, and a historic small stable. Each of the church, school, and stable were disassembled and relocated to the Historical Society from the surrounding area where they were rebuilt piece by piece utilizing their original materials.

All grounds will be open to guests to explore. There will be a cocktail hour immediately following the ceremony with drinks available and appetizers served.

The sit-down dinner will be in the aisle of the Historic Simmons Stables Barn with a string quartet playing during the cocktail hour. A lively and entertaining band will play under a white tent next to the Barn following dinner.

Parking:

There is ample parking at the Stable, which is the pasture/dirt track area to the left of the barn as you drive into the front. Feel free to park at the Stable in rows and caravan to the Historical Society if you prefer to minimize parking, but it's up to you and your party. There is ample street parking at the Historical Society, but parking within the grounds is limited. At the Stable, please do not park in the track area to the right of the barn where there will be a white tent and pictures will be taken.

We look forward to seeing you on September 7th!
